RAHANA Prisoners’ Rights – Safoura Tofangchi and her husband Abolhasan Darolshafayi were arrested on Wednesday, February 10th, after being summoned by the Intelligence Ministry. Their 2 daughters, Banafsheh and Jamileh were arrested a few days before their parents also after being summoned to the Intelligence Ministry.
Yashar Darolshafa who is the nephew of Abolhasan Darolshafayi was arrested on February 3rd, 2010 and is currently detained at Evin Prison. One day after Yashar’s arrest his mother Touran Kabiri and his brother Kaveh were arrested by intelligence agents but were released the next day.
According to Bahman Darolshafayi who is the brother of the 2 detained girls, Touran Kabiri and her son Kaveh were arrested again on Wednesday, February 10th. Bahman Darolshafayi wrote in his blog that his father called from Evin on Friday and asked him to hire a lawyer.
All 7 members of Darolshafayi family are currently detained in Evin Prison. Abolhasan Darolshafayi had once been arrested on May 1st, 2009, the International Labor day. He was held for 7 weeks in Evin Prison including 44 days in solitary. Yashar Daroshafa, Abolhasan nephew, had been arrested on November 4th, 2009 but was released on bail after spending 20 days in Evin.
